Dog facts…Do Dogs have belly buttons???
Every now and then we are going to wow you with facts about our beloved buddies! This time we are going to blow your mind with the question… Do Dogs have belly buttons?
Now, we know this is possibly something that’s been keeping you awake at night. Fear not, we have the answer!! YES! Dogs are placental mammals, which means just like us they are developed in the womb and fed by the placenta. The umbilical cord attaches from their Mum to their belly, hence them having a belly button as this is just the scar left behind when the cord is cut!
But where is it, we hear you say?! Well, chances are it might be hard to find for you but just for the record, if you can find it and it’s sticking out you may want to pop to the vet as it’s not meant to on a pup. If it’s not then you are looking for a little line or wrinkly scar just below their rib cage.
We hope that’s been the best thing you’ve learnt this week!!
